Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT), established in 1986, is a premier private engineering college located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, the institute is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. The institute is named after the renowned engineer and Bharat Ratna recipient Sir M. Visvesvaraya, embodying his vision of engineering excellence.
Eligibility: -
Admission to B.E. Programs: CET, COMED-K, and Management Quota
- Admission through CET (Common Entrance Test):
- The Government of Karnataka conducts the Common Entrance Test (CET) annually, typically in April. This test is open to Karnataka domicile students. Seat allotment is done online, with 45% of the total intake reserved for CET candidates. Additionally, 5% of the seats are designated under the Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) for meritorious, economically weaker students. These seats come with a tuition fee waiver to support eligible students.
- Admission through COMED-K:
- The Consortium of Managements of Private Colleges in Karnataka conducts the COMEDK exam every year, generally in May. This test is open to both Karnataka and Non-Karnataka students. 30% of the total intake is reserved for students admitted through COMEDK.
- Admission through Management Quota:
- The remaining 25% of the total intake is filled through the management quota. Provisional admission procedures for these seats typically begin in April. Students interested in this quota can visit the Trust Office in person for inquiries or send an email for further details.
